Welcome to Liquid Hawaiʻi — where each day starts with salt on our skin, sun on our backs, and respect for the ocean. We are a close group of divers and ocean guides from the Big Island, and we’re excited to share our home with you.
Our Roots
Liquid Hawaiʻi was founded by Ulua Matt, a local raised in Hawaiʻi. Growing up in the ocean, Matt learned that it is more than a playground — it’s a teacher and a responsibility. He created Liquid Hawaiʻi based on the values he grew up with: keep it local, keep it respectful, and always show aloha.

That spirit shapes everything we do. We’re not a big corporate tour line, we’re a local crew doing what we love, the way locals would want it done.
Meet the Crew
Our team is small by design. Each member is a skilled diver and ocean-safety expert who loves sharing stories about Hawaiʻi’s marine life. We can tell you why manta rays swim around certain reefs, where honu cruise at sunrise, and which lava tubes have the brightest schools of reef fish.
But more importantly, we want you to feel at home — whether it’s your first time on the water or your routine hobby.
The Liquid Way
At Liquid Hawaiʻi, every tour feels personal. We take time to learn your names and treat each guest like a friend. You’ll discover local history and cultural insights, along with stories from island life. Plus, you’ll explore amazing marine environments with guides who know them well.
We follow sustainable, respectful practices with all wildlife and ocean spaces. This isn’t just where we work — it’s our home, and we care for it like one.
